Custom made solid Korina soloist guitar, Gibson pickup, floyd rose, hand built

  

I've been making my own guitars for close to 20 years now, mostly inspired by Eddie Van Halen making his own Frankenstein guitar to suit his needs better than off the peg guitars. Friends have often commented that I should sell them, but I never have until this pandemic giving me time on my hands. This guitar is a Soloist style, giving you the modern comfortable playing experience and upper fret access, but is not a pure shredder. I've never enjoyed playing a skinny Ibanez style neck, i've always found better tone from a thicker neck. And so this guitar is a blend of vintage and modern to be as strong tonally as it is ease of playability.

Solid 1 piece black Korina body (African Limba - considered the holy grail tonewood), CNC'd by Warmoth USA. Hand carved modifications on Warmoth design e. Amongst others- cutaway heel for extended upper fret access, with a fender deluxe curved heel neck plate and a hand rubbed satin oil finish. Maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 fret (6105 2.3x1.4mm), 25.5 scale, 42.2mm width at nut, 12 fingerboard radius, vintage C back profile (See images for profile and measurements).

Hand rubbed satin oil finish for fast smooth playability, rolled fingerboard edges and hand sanded shaping. Gibson USA bridge humbucker (8.2k) taken from Gibson ES335, just like the frankenstein Eddie built. Kent Armstrong Classic Vintage neck single coil (6.15k) STV 1R. Licensed Floyd Rose locking tremolo, chrome.

Wilkinson vintage waffle tuners, they look like the original vintage strat tuners but behave themselves better like modern ones. EVH only needed one knob for volume, and i'm a believer in the simpler the better, particularly when tone is concerned. D'Addario XL 9-42 Strings.
