Epiphone Riviera 1966 Made in Kalamazoo. I've decided to sell my 1966 Epiphone Riviera. I'm in no rush to do so but it's not seeing the light of day it deserves. Vintage Epiphone Rivieras are seldom seen in the UK, so much so I imported this from the USA.
Trivia - I bought if off Mat Koehler, head of product development at Gibson. The guitar plays like butter and is in amazing condition for its ages with no touch ups, resprays or any other adulterations.
The mini humbuckers sound superb and the neck has got a really nice roundness to it. Nut width is the post 65 - 1 9/16.
There's crazing/checking on the back of the neck and a small amount on the back of the body which looks great. The guitar has a factory 2nd stamp on the back of the headstock. This was normally done to indicate a cosmetic flaw which is insignificant for a nearing 60 year old guitar. Original pickguard with E emblem (included).Original bridge w/nylon saddles (included). I've changed out the original tuners for some vintage looking repro klusons to keep the originals intact and changed out two pots but I have the originals.
I had the guitar re-fretted as I found the fretless wonder style frets unplayable. Same size with more height.
