Fender Performer 1985 RARE JAPAN made collectors item. Fender Performer 1985, RARE "Metal strat". Designed by John Page, former CEO of the Fender custom shop, Made in Japan for only one year 1985, amazing innovative guitars for the time New features developed at the time include, neck tilt system accessed by allen key through the back neck plate for adjusting the neck angle, and TBX tone control, the tone knob has a indentation at No. 5 that's normal tone range, then from 5-10 gives a treble boost.

The guitar is fitted with specially designed and angled like a Telecaster humbuckers, great meaty rock sound, The guitar also features a coil tap switch, this is not original but is a 3 way switch, giving single coil options for both humbuckers but also both together in single coil mode in the middle position. GUNMETAL BLUE Finish metallic original colour, gone slighty greeny blue in that classic Fender style Looks black on pics but its blue. It has had a allen key holder fitted to the rear of the headstock. For adjusting the Fender system 1 tremelo that comes as standard (very Kahler like). This guitar has lived a life and has dings missing paint, worn areas and has that beautiful played in feel & look "roadworn" is the term. The maple has a lovely dark colour, Some paint wear (See pics) lots of PATINA for a 38 year old guitar, The real deal its been gigged many times and wears its battle scars with pride but has just had a complete strip down, deep clean and setup up with Slinky 9-42's. Comes with FENDER Hard case on tweed (not original). It's a " Fender"embossed case. All parts are present and correct including original tremelo arm and ALL fine tuning screws/adjusters Some pics have 1 tuning adjuster as the incorrect type but l've found the original so all present and correct. Plays like a dream , all tones catered for these incredibly rare guitars are getting hard to find and will only ever go UP in price.
