Vox Mando Guitar 12 String Octave Twelve, 1966 Made in England withOriginal Case

  

In 1965 Vox Musical Instruments created the Vox Mando Guitar, sometimes known as the Octave Twelve. Here we have the earliest commercial example of this Mando Guitar from 1966 with the metal wrap-around pick guard and tail-piece, these were only manufactured in the UK. The later version was a slightly different design in this respect and Vox eventually moved production of these to the EKO factory in Italy. Cosmetically this is in good condition for its age, though there is some pitting to the metal plate and a small dent in neck and a chip of the finish to the bottom back of the body (please see pictures I have tried to highlight any imperfections in the finish). It comes with the original hardcase which is in fair condition externally but good internally.

It is indeed an amazing sounding instrument in its own right. Famous players include Brian Jones and Ry Cooder.
